This is a chart of 270 different possible scenarios that you are going to find at the table. If you were to sit down at the blackjack table, you would find out that the House has an incredible edge. This isn’t anything new though—any gambler knows that the basic odds of gambling are always seriously swayed against them. This is just the chance gamblers take! All games come with hefty House edges—if they didn’t, the casino wouldn’t be promoting them or trying to get you to play them! The good news though is that with games of strategy there are things you can do to overcome that House edge. In the game of blackjack, once you get good at the basic strategy chart, you immediately get the chance to turn things around. Suddenly your odds are going to increase thanks to the reliability of the chart. The basic strategy chart is mathematically sound and it comes with plenty of calculations to prove that if you pick the moves it tells you, you are going to be working well within the probabilities of winning. The chart is calculated based on different scenarios and what the most probably move for you to make should be. Can it be wrong? Sure- but the odds are going to be in your favor that it won’t be.
Once you start playing with the basic strategy chart, you should immediately see some improvements of your outcomes. You want to make sure that as you are working, you continue to learn the chart. You don’t have to memorize it, but knowing what the general moves are and why you are picking them is going to help you to come up with that much better of a strategy in the end. Always have a chart handy—whether you are wagering online or at a land- based casino—and you are going to give yourself the best shot at walking away with a good win, or at minimum having a great gaming session.
